This 6-ton giant cannot lift all four legs off the ground at once. Their bone structure does not allow it.
Elephants are the only mammals that cannot jump. Their leg bones extend straight down - ideal for carrying 6 tons but provides no flexibility.
Evolutionarily, they never needed to jump. Their size means no natural predators, and they do not need to jump for food.
Even when running, at least one foot stays on the ground. Technically they "fast walk" but can reach 40 km/h.
