Summary
Contrary to popular belief, the Great Wall is too thin to be seen from space with the naked eye.
The Great Wall is 21,196 km long but only 5-8 meters wide. This makes it invisible from space. Astronauts have confirmed this multiple times. Binoculars or telescopes are needed to see the Wall. For comparison: highways are wider and even they are not visible. This myth spread from a 1938 chocolate advertisement!
